I recently bought the car adaptor for my Iphone so that I can hear the music downloaded to my Iphone on my car stereo and I found that it was pretty amazing. Not only for the very affodable price but for the very high quality sound as if I had a big stereo system in my car. You can use it anywhere you have a cassette deck, your car, portable radio, etc. I highly recommend it, you cannot find anything better at such a low price.

False advertising – this is an AWFUL product – E. Kim – Hewitt, TX
I purchased this product hoping that I would be getting a good deal (as one of the reviewers stated), but (as one of the other reviewers stated) you get what you pay for. This adapter is one of the worst products I have ever used in my life. The item description uses many top-notch brand names and product names to increase its visibility and appeal. However, the maker of the product is a low-end, non-recognizable company called “Merkury”, and is packaged with a “Jimmy Johnson” endorsement and “Lowe’s” logo on it. Notice that the first of the product images has been photoshopped to omit these details. Additionally, the shipping packaging was so cheap, that it looks like someone bought these at a local store that was trying to dump them at a low price.
In addition to the “false advertising”, the quality of sound it produces in the car is simply awful, even though the sound system in my car has produced quite good sound with other cassette adapters. The music comes out with a discomforting high-end screeching, while the lower frequencies do not come out at all. I bought two of these, hoping to use one in each of my cars, and both of them are equally awful. Do NOT waste your money or time on this product. Do NOT believe the two five-star reviews given for this product. There is no way that this product could ever be anything close to a 5-star product.

Static, static….sound quality is terrible. – Valerie –
Sound quality if terrible. Lots of static. Seller does not accept returns.
Waste of money. Paid for my previous one @ BestBuy. Left in in rental car. Tried
replacing with this one. Bad decision. Went back to BestBuy and replace.
You pay for what you get!!! Because of sellers return policy I will not
order from them again!
Valerie

do not buy – a reader – United States
This product’s quality is so low as to be somewhat unusable. I had to put it in several times before the stereo in my car would accept input from it. when it finally did it was distorted. will not use.

Ipod car adapter – Cynthia L. Mckenzie – Tennessee
I bought this so I can listen to my Ipod Shuffle in the car. It works great and I have not had any problems with it. The sound quality is good.

The Guardian:

To re-read the original text is to be reminded, in all sorts of unexpected ways, how far we have come. Its author has since morphed from J E, an “independent scientist”, to James Lovelock, the world-famous author and speaker.

Kids naturally love to try things to see what happens. They experiment, fiddle around and often have fewer restrictions on what they think is possible. To tap into this and direct these wonderful energies in the learning of science, you just need a little bit of guidance and direction.

One kind of direction can come in the form of books. Cy Tymony, the author of Sneaky Uses for Everyday Things, has also written the books Sneaky Science Tricks, The Sneaky Book for Girls and The Sneaky Book for Boys. They each teach about scientific principles and important skills, and have direction for useful crafts and fun projects.

Sneaky Science Tricks

Sneaky Science Tricks is about learning in a fun way using scientific principles (such as Bernoulli’s principle). You don’t just read about science, though, you get to do science. To get the maximum benefit, I suggest using this book with your kids, rather than having them do it on their own. This will allow you to explain any questions that they have and to share your own childhood experiences. Even if your kids aren’t science types, they’ll enjoy spending quality time together. When younger kids do these activities, all they know is that they’re having fun and only later realize the scientific basis. This kind of hands-on application leads to a lot of “aha!” moments.

Grouped by topic and full of very clear illustrations, the book introduces basic concepts such as air pressure and balance, with plenty of project ideas. It then builds on that knowledge with more complicated applications. Though definitely not comprehensive, the book almost feels like a basic science curriculum in one handy volume. The projects are fairly easy to implement, and use mostly household items. You could work through the book in order, or pick and choose projects as you like.

Chapter titles for this book include: Science Tricks, Measurement Projects, Astronomy and Navigation Tricks, Magic Tricks and Trivia. There is also a list of world and U.S. city latitudes in the back of the book for use with the Astronomy and Navigation chapter. Book projects include: making all kinds of weather measurements, making your own voltmeter, making tools to find your way home and using science to do magic. In the back of the book, the trivia section is full of facts that are all science-based and great for parties. Well, geeky parties anyway.

My apologies that this didn’t get posted on Saturday as I’d planned. Some unexpected things came up and writing this post got ditched for more important things. If you’re new here, be sure to read the first posts in this Becoming a Work-At-Home Mom series here.

After my husband finished law school and I stopped working as a marketing manager for the homeschool magazine, I cut back significantly on the time I spent working on business endeavors. It was wonderfully freeing and I felt like I was finally able to focus on my family and home again after neglecting many things for months.

Before my daughter got up in the morning or during her afternoon naptime, I continued to work on building the blog and our online business. The blog had grown to have around 2,000 to 3,000 visitors per day, so there was an increasing load of email and comments to keep up with. Plus, our online book business was slowly picking up. There were always at least a few orders every day and when we ran sales, there’d be a slew of at least 30 to 50 orders.

I had plenty to do, but I was looking for ways to be a little more efficient and maximize the return on my investment of time when it came to business stuff. So I started spending more time learning more about monetizing a blog. I began observing other bloggers who were making a full-time income from blogging and trying to determine what made them successful and what was working for them.

I discovered that most of those who were doing well were honest, straight-forward, unique, creative and they blogged often and wrote well. I also noticed that they usually utilized multiple streams of income. In many cases, not only were they offering private ad sales, but they also had ad networks plus they participated in various affiliate marketing opportunities and some even produced ebooks and downloadable products. One thing was clear: they didn’t put all their eggs into one basket.

The thought of making a full-time income from blogging seemed utterly unattainable to me, but I remember thinking how incredible that it would be. I figured it was something only a small handful of really smart, really talented people who got in at the right time and place could ever pull off. But it fascinated me and I kept watching and learning from those who were doing it well.

At the same time, I continued to spend a lot of time writing ebooks as these were our best-selling items and required very little upfront costs. Plus, since I had set up the download process through Clickbank, unless a customer had a technical issue, the buying process was entirely automated. It wasn’t unusual for me to make between $15 and $30 per day in ebook profits. And when I ran a sale or released a new ebook, the earnings would be much higher than that.

I was encouraged and excited and I realized that the more I could automate things, the more I could increase the business income without it requiring more time and effort on my behalf.

One day, I had an idea to produce a little ebook with 10 different fast and frugal dinner menus complete with recipes and tips. I called the ebook Simply Centsible Suppers and it sold like hotcakes! After that ebook was such a success, I wrote another called Simply Centsible Breakfasts. Again, it sold really well. I was selling these ebooks for $2.97, so after the fees associated with the download, I was making less than $2 in profit per book. However, it was really apparent that I’d hit on a hot topic.

Being the entrepreneurial person I am, I started to brainstorm all sorts of things I could do with this idea. I envisioned a whole line of ebooks: Simply Centsible Snacks, Simply Centsible Side Dishes, Simply Centsible Sack Lunches… you get the picture. Then, I decided I should set up a website which was called SimplyCentsible.com that had articles on frugality and which promoted my ebooks.

I had just found out we were expecting our second child and was in the throes of morning-noon-and-night sickness, so I figured it was the perfect time for me to work on setting up a new website. And so I went to work setting up SimplyCentsible.com — a website which I thought was destined to really take off and put into practice all these monetization ideas I’d been gleaning over the past year.

My brain was spinning as I lay there day after day sick as a dog on the couch. I’d hit on a brilliant idea — or so I thought.

But time would prove that it was a very short-lived “brilliant” idea.
